Abstract
The present study translated the Future Event Questionnaire(FEQ) developed by Mirand and Mennin(2007) and examined the factor structure and validity of the scale. A total of 1,166 university and graduate students participated in the present study; the data obtained from the first phase (n=287) were used for exploratory factor analysis and the data from collected in the second phase (n=879) were used for confirmatory factor analysis. Exploratory factor analysis yielded a two factor structure-¡°positive prospective cognition¡± and ¡°negative prospective cognition¡±. Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated a satisfactory factor loadings and fit indices of this scale. In addition, the convergent validity and the discriminant validity were also existed. Given the above results, the Korean version of the FEQ has been identified as an appropriate tool to measure positive and negative prospective cognition. We further discussed the implications and limitations of K-PCS based on the results of this study.
